Pirates Fall to Pine Tree 28-62
Pirate Stadium was buzzing as the band was warming up and fans were entering the stadium for the first time this season. Crandall’s home opener would be a tough matchup against a good Longview Pine Tree team. Both teams entered the night’s game 1-0 on the season.
Jackrabbits Fall To Midlothian In Hard Fought Contest
The Jackrabbits fought and clawed with the Midlothian Panthers for three quarters before succumbing late in the game for a 49-13 loss. This, as expected, was a hard fought, physical battle. The Jackrabbits fall to 0-2 for the season.

1970 FORNEY FOOTBALL
1970 Forney football was fifty years ago, and my two buddies and I find it hard to believe that we are even that old! But like the popular country tune somewhat goes: “I believe that a day takes forever to go by, and a year takes no time at all!” Isn’t that right, Roy and Marty? For those of you who somehow missed last week’s column, Don and Chester (Roy) and Marty stood at the curb of J. C. and Peggy Swain’s house in the Pinson Addition and discussed the “old days” of Forney Football and other important events of Forney history. Here is the followup!

FISD Swim Team Brings Home Win In Season Opener
On Saturday, September 26, Forney ISD swim team competed in their first meet of the season against Mesquite and Sunnyvale ISD swim teams at the Town East pool in Mesquite. Forney High School and North Forney High School swimmers were victorious over Mesquite and Sunnyvale. FISD earned 313 points with Mesquite and Sunnyvale earning 186 and 34 points respectively.
