Forney Celebrates Independence Day

Last Saturday’s annual City of Forney Independence Day Celebration was a success, considering the unique circumstances. A far cry from the droves of attendees that the City is accustomed to for this event, it is estimated that several thousand citizens still took part in the festivities in one way or another over the course of the evening. Men, women, and children, donning their masks and face coverings, enjoyed musical performances by the Sons of Bocephus and Hill Country. A dozen total food trucks in and outside the Spellman Amphitheater made sure no one left hungry.

After climbing the proverbial career ladder, which began for Briggs ironically on a ladder truck, the new Fire Chief is thrilled to join the City of Forney in this position.

A nurse practitioner, Dr. Rosana had no second thoughts about volunteering to assist the medical community in New York. In fact, she says that to her “it wasn’t really a question.”
