Last June, Governor Abbott worked with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) to create a set of actions to improve safety at all Texas public schools. Forney ISD has complied with all state mandates and has implemented additional actions focused on improving safety and security on and off campus.

The City of Mesquite officially opened Latimore Park, 1025 N. Bryan Ave, on Saturday, Oct. 22, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Latimore Park was built to meet the needs of children living in the Mesquite Square neighborhood. From Jan. 1–Aug. 31, 2022, Texas consumers over 65 reported over $95,000 lost to scammers and con artists. The top three most-reported scams impacting this age group are online purchase, lottery and phishing scams.
