Kaufman County to Launch Technology Plan Aimed at Increasing Broadband Adoption, Reliability, and Use

After months of data collection, Kaufman County, in partnership with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas), has released the results of a comprehensive broadband survey and a subsequent Technology Action Plan designed to increase high-speed internet access and use. This countywide broadband assessment was generously funded by The Meadows Foundation, a grantmaking foundation based in Dallas.

Changing Weather

The region of Northeast Texas that Forney is located in has some of the most variable weather in Texas. One day it is windy, sunny, and 80 degrees; the next day it is rainy, stormy, and high 70s. Autumn is a challenge for gardeners and, in a great sense, teachers. Both of these groups have young, growing minds that need to be nurtured and protected from the ever changing outside “weather elements.” Or, in the case of a classroom, the many variable activities that dominate the fall calendar.

Turkey prices have been on the rise with Thanksgiving Day still more than a month away, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert.

Mesquite Holds Ribbon Cutting Event for Latimore Park

The City of Mesquite officially opened Latimore Park, 1025 N. Bryan Ave, on Saturday, Oct. 22, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Latimore Park was built to meet the needs of children living in the Mesquite Square neighborhood. Prior to Latimore Park, the closest park to the neighborhood was more than a mile away, a distance out of reach for young children to play.
