Graveside services for Wayne Rush, 64, of Forney were held 10:00 AM Monday, June 15, 2020, at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Mr. Rush was born December 19, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to the late Joel Elmer and Minnie Deloris (Lyon) Rush and passed away June 9, 2020 in Richardson.

Marie (affectionately known as “Toots”) was born on April 13, 1932, on Mackinac Island, Michigan, to Beatrice (Chapman) and John McGulpin. Her maternal grandparents were Edouige (St. John) and James Chapman and her paternal grandparents were Lena (Chapman) and Selew McGulpin, all of whom were original settlers of Mackinac Island. Growing up on the island, she lied about her age, at 13, so she could start working at the restaurants in the summertime. In the winter, she went to school, ice skating, bob sledding and tobogganing and she loved to sing in the church choir. At Christmas time, Marie always remembered the snow being so beautiful because there were no cars so it never got dirty. They heated their home with a big stove in the living room that used coal and, every Saturday, they had to wash the curtains and the walls because of the soot from the smoke. She lived in a 9 bedroom house that her family rented rooms to others for $3 a week and it only had 1 bathroom. Her transportation was a sleigh with sled dogs that she had to hook up to go anywhere. The dogs stayed outside all winter and would dig a hole to stay warm. Marie also had the job of “Bringing in the Ice,” which was going out on the lake and cutting BIG chunks of ice to be brought back, put in the ice house on the docks and that’s what they would use for ice in the summer.

Bryan Allan Skaggs, age 58, of Forney, TX, passed away May 18, 2020 at his home. He was born August 7, 1961 in Shawnee, OK to Toby Jackson Skaggs and Nelda Jo Allan Skaggs.

Barbara L. (Pollock) Read, age 81, of Forney, TX, passed away at home on April 25, 2020. She was born in Corsicana, TX on September 5, 1938, to Robert Paul Pollock and Elizabeth “Ann” (Wallin) Pollock.

Jim was born on December 19, 1935 in Postelle, Arkansas and lived in Alton, MO. He graduated as Salutatorian of Moro High School in Moro, Arkansas. He also enlisted in the Army in 1955 and spent 3 years serving our country.

Kelli Doll Holliman, 45, of Forney passed away on April 19, 2020 at her home.

Dear husband, loving father, kind soul, admiring teacher, and son, Ethan Michael Dutton, age 29, of Wills Point, passed away April 11, 2020.

Peggy Jean Peden Swain, 84, of Forney, Texas, passed away on March 21, 2020. A private funeral service for immediate family will be held at 10 a.m. on March 25, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas, with Brother Steve Glossup officiating.

Carol (Ponton) Jebsen most recently of Yantis, Texas passed away peacefully with her family at her side on February 23,2020.

Matthew Allen Foster was born on October 3, 2002 and passed away February 21, 2020.

Donald Louis Cairl (Don), 75, passed away February 25, 2020, from complications from surgery. He was born on July 29, 1944, in Inglewood, California, to Louis Lawrence Cairl and Mildred Eliza-beth White Cairl, but lived most of his life in Texas. He is preceded in death by both parents, a few aunts and uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annette King Cairl of Forney, a son, Sean Michael Cairl of Oregon, an aunt, Dorothy White Borchardt and a cousin, Lisa Borchardt Brillante, both of New Mexico.

Andrew James “Jim” Marshall Jr., aged 71 of University Park, Texas, passed away on February 3rd, 2020.
