Food’s Important Role in Overall Health

Food’s Important Role in Overall Health

Nutrition is a popular topic of conversation, particularly among those embarking on a weight loss or maintenance plan. Individuals carefully study food macros and pore over various diets to get the most out of the foods they eat. When the end goal is simply looking good, it may be easy to forget about the other benefits of nutritious diets, including their link to overall health.

What is so special about GEORGE CLOONEY..... .....or is he?

I read something one time not too long ago that said in essence that George Clooney was NEVER YOUNG, but he was NEVER OLD! But, of course, we know that is an impossibility. Some people seem to have always been, or at least acted, OLD, and some think they never get OLD, but even I know I am not “46” any more! (Only one student in my memory ever guessed me to be older than I really was at the time of the “bonus question,” and that was Randy Cannaday, when he was a freshman student in my English I class at FHS, early in the 1970s.)

Believe me when I say that Gordon McLendon’s “KLIF-AM, 1190 on your radio dial,” was “the station” to which all my friends listened, except a few “holdouts” for KBOX-AM, 1480, which later became a “country station,” when most of us country kids in Forney listened to “pop radio.” O. K., this opening is my opinion and subject to rebuttal!

Thank You to All Who Served

Thank You to All Who Served

Last week we at FEF were proud to celebrate the hard work that our graduates have done for the last 13 years. But this week--the week between Memorial Day and D-Day--it’s worth considering all those that came before us that made all of this possible. We at the Foundation remember those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice against fascism. We hope to never be, as FDR said, “Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy [who] forget in time that men have died to win them.”
