Forney City Manager Tony Carson Responds to Grievance

On Sunday evening, February 21, 2021, Forney Chief of Police Mica Lunt submitted a grievance to Mayor Mary Penn and City Attorney Jon Thatcher against City Manager Tony Carson. The grievance was related to an incident on February 19, 2021, when Chief Lunt requested that Forney Public Works place sand on the parking lots of Walmart, Kroger, and Brookshire’s in Forney. City Manager Carson instructed Chief Lunt to stop placing sand on the privately-owned parking lots.  

 The Forney City Council met on the evening of Friday, February 26th, 2021 to discuss the grievance and to hear the findings of City Attorney Jon Thatcher. Prior to that meeting, City Manager Carson sent the Mayor and City Council a (4) page letter detailing his response to Chief Lunt's grievance.
